The History of Williams, Quintin, & O’Leary:

Jay Williams and Ray Quintin met while attending law school and taking classes at night at New England School of Law in Boston.  Jay was a teacher with the New Bedford School Department, and Ray was a New Bedford policeman.  They became friends while commuting together, with Ray doing most of the driving, and Jay catching up on his sleep from his many part time jobs and raising his three children.  Upon graduation in 1988, Jay and Ray joined with the late Thomas J. Sullivan in establishing Sullivan, Williams & Quintin.  Due to their tenacity and their willingness to accommodate buyers, sellers and real estate brokers to make their closings a pleasant experience, Sullivan, Williams & Quintin quickly became the premier real estate conveyancing firm in the South Coast area.  They purchased and renovated the Borden Wood House, a three story historical home, complete with a widow’s walk, located at 355 Union Street in New Bedford.  In 2004, the firm moved to its current location at the Howland Place office building, a renovated former textile mill, located in the city’s south end.  Sara O’Leary joined the firm in 1995, and became a valuable member of the team.  In 2020, Sara joined the firm as a partner, and the name of the company became Williams, Quintin & O’Leary.

As lifelong residents of Bristol County, Jay, Ray and Sara have a strong sense of community, devoting long hours to various groups, such as the Boys and Girls Club of Greater New Bedford, the Boy Scouts, various local youth athletic associations and Missions for Humanity, in addition to answering the extensive demands on their time that have been required in order to establish SWQ and keep WQO at the forefront of the local real estate market.  Their familiarity with the area and its residents has given them a special insight into the needs of their clients, the details of information needed to handle closings in our surrounding communities, and has helped them develop the skills and knowledge needed to help their clients achieve favorable solutions.

Our dedicated and knowledgeable staff are an integral part of Williams, Quintin & O’Leary and genuinely like coming to work.  We are a family oriented firm; family always comes first.  We owe a great part of our success to our WQO family.

Jay, Ray and Sara anticipate many more years of helping the people of the South Coast communities move forward to improving their families’ lives and growing their businesses.
